In this world, the so called successful people, are the ones, who have got high education, or a lot of money. According to the world system, if you can not make a lot of money, or can not be highly educated, you are a failure, and have not succeeded. You could be also considered not very bright or intelligent either. In the way this world thinks, you have to work a lot, and to earn or deserve all your riches, if you become a rich person, a millionaire or billionaire.
But for us Christians it is a different story. God has a different way to describe as successful, all his children. According to God, in the Kingdom of God, the successful people, are not necessarily the rich ones, or the highly educated ones. John the Baptist, is called the greatest by Jesus, among those born by women. Yet John the Baptist, was not highly educated or rich. If you are a born again Christian, you may be thinking that for you to have an abundance in your life, all you have to do, is to work hard, and in that way make your riches. It is true, that the Bible says that the diligent people, who work hard, will find wealth, but the Bible also reveals to us, something else about us Christians, the children of God, having an abundance of material blessings in our life. When we read Proverbs 10:22, we can clearly see, that the blessing of the Lord, brings wealth, even if the people have not worked for it. Do you see that? That is the grace of God, working in your life displayed. If you are not working for your money, how can God give you money? Did not God say, that we should work, as written in his Word? Of course he said it! But God wants us to know, that us working for our money and needs, is not everything there is. Yes God has commanded us to work, and earn our living, but he can also give money or riches, to anyone he wishes, at any time, just as he gave riches to king Solomon, without Solomon working for all that gold and silver, which was given him from God, after he had the dream. Or consider the case when Jesus told Peter and the other disciples, after his resurrection, to into the sea again, and catch fish, after the disciples were trying to catch fish the whole night, and did not catch anything. After they did what Jesus told them to do, they have an abundance of fish. Now, was that abundance of fish, caught by the disciples, the result of their work, or was it, because of the grace of God, the fact that Jesus miraculously provided all that fish in abundance for them? Of course, that was the grace of God manifested, right in front of their eyes, just as it says in Proverbs 10:22, that the blessing of the Lord, gives wealth. When God decides to bless someone, and give them wealth and riches, not man can stop it, and that will be entirely based on the grace of God for that person, and nothing to do, with what they have worked for, what education they have, or what business or profession they have. All that is to do with the grace of God in their lives.

Before you start reading this post, please bear in mind, that the author of this post, has struggled with spending money, in the right way before God in the past, and has spend money in small or big amounts in the past, in the wrong way, definitely in a not very appropriate way before God. But the author of this post, also believes, that there is forgiveness from God, for all of us, who spend money in the bad way before God, not as his heart desires. May God help us, to do the right thing financially!
Read Proverbs 30:8. Now, that is a good prayer, which is about a person, asking God, to give him only what he needs, no riches, but no poverty either. There are many people, who believe, that Christians, must not pray for riches, and ask God to give them millions of dollars. If the reader is one of them, then this prayer in Proverbs 30:8, is a brilliant way, to ask God to give you only what you need. This prayer is similar to what Jesus told us to pray about our daily need, that is, to ask God the Father, to give us our daily bread. In both prayers, the emphasis is not riches, and millions in the bank, but about what a person needs. If you are one of those people, who are concerned, with the Prosperity Gospel, as it is called by so many Christians, than this mode of prayer, to ask God for only what you need, is all you need to ask for. But, if it is not a problem for you personally, to ask God, to give you riches, and a lot of money and other material blessings, then freely go ahead, and ask him for that too, because the problem before God, is never the amount of money or blessings you have, but what you do with that. That is the main question which you have to ask yourself first, about any money or other blessings in your life. You see, the problem is never the amount of money or other material blessings you have, in your life! Never! The question is always, what you do with the amount of money that you have. You can be pleasing God, and he can accept and it could be 100% according to his will, if you have millions of dollars in the bank, and if you have many other material blessings, if, you use them according to God’s will, in a way, that is pleasing to God. If being rich as a Christian, and having a lot of money and material possessions, was wrong, and was problem according to God, then why did God himself, offer to Solomon riches and prosperity, even when Solomon did not ask for that? You see, it was not the desire or the request of Solomon, to ask God for money or riches. It was entirely and completely God’s desire and intention from the start, to give to Solomon plenty of money and riches, and to make Solomon, the richest man in the world. So, the prosperity was not an idea coming from Solomon himself, but from God, first of all! Also, if it was wrong for the people of God, to ask God for riches and a lot of money and other material blessings, why did Abraham was a man rich in gold. Go and read it in the Bible. It says Abraham was a rich man, and that included being rich in gold! Shall we continue? What about Job? Have you noticed that it say that Job was very rich, and yet, was a man, who was pleasing to God, and God himself said, that there was no other righteous man like Job, who follows God, and obeys what God commands. The Poverty Gospel was never a Gospel coming from heaven, but is coming straight from hell, from the prince of darkness, who has come to kill, steal and destroy. Steal what? Well, steal what you get from heaven, and that is your money too. That is where the Poverty Gospel, or shall I call it the Poverty Goose-spell comes from. Poverty is a curse, according to the Word of God, in the Old Testament. How can something which the Word of God says is a curse in the very Word of God, be a blessing to you as a Christian? Poverty was a curse in the Old Testament, given from God to people who disobeyed God. Read Deuteronomy chapter 28. The other type of Gospel, which is the only true Gospel, which comes from heaven, tells us in the book of Revelation, that the saints who go to heaven, will live in a city made of pure gold, and the main street made of gold. So, once you change your temporal address here on earth, with your permanent address in heaven which will be your eternal address, you and gold will be inseparable, if you agree with it or not. You will not be able to escape walking on gold, and living in a city build of gold for eternity. That is the Jerusalem in heaven, prepared from God for his saints. Even Apostle Paul says in the New Testament, that he has learned to live when he has plenty, and when he has little. But what is important is, that he says that he has learned to live with, when he has plenty. What does plenty means? It just means plenty, abundance, and nothing else. We can sin before God with very little money, and we can sin before God with plenty of money. The question is never the amount of money we have, but what we do with it, that God is concerned about. If you have only $1, but use it for the wrong purpose, then no matter how small the amount, it is still a sin. And, you can have $1 000 000, and use it for the right purpose, and it can still be a blessing and be pleasing to God. So, money or the amount of it, is never the problem, but it is always how we use it, that determines if it is a problem, or a blessing. Are you at the end of the rope financially? God will give you another one, without end! If God cares for every single animal, there is in the world, to feed them, would he not care for you, who are from the chosen generation, and from a royal priesthood? You are made in his image, and no animal is. Would God not take care of your financial situation, if you are the crown of his creation? Do not be like the disciples of Jesus, who could not see the Provider of everything, right there with them, and were asking, how they could feed the thousands of people, in a isolated place, with no money to buy food for everyone, after Jesus told them to give those thousands of people food, before he multiplied the few fish and bread by a miracle. Think about the Israelite during the time, they were in the wilderness. God fed them with the bread from heaven, the Manna, and provided them, with water from the rock, as recorded in Psalm 105:40, 41. He cared for them, for 40 years, while they were in the wilderness, to provide for their needs. They did not have income in the wilderness for 40 years, because what could they work, in a wilderness. They did not have social benefits, to rely on. Yet, God miraculously, took care of them. And now, if you are a born again Christian, you are under a better covenant, because we live under the New Testament now. By accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Savior and Lord, you are given the status of being a child of the living God. I want you to look again, at Hebrew 13:5, even if you know that verse, because, that is one of the clear promises of God Almighty for you, and about the amount of money you have. It says, that you should be content with the amount of money you have. Now, you may be saying that you have very little money. If that is the case, then it does not matter. It does not matter really how much money you have now, and the reason for that is found in Hebrews 13:5. That is God talking to you personally, regardless of how much money you have now, in your pocket, bank account or wallet! God says to you very clearly, in Hebrews 13:5, that no matter how much money you have now, he will not leave you or forsake you, but that he is your helper! Do you see that? God does not care how much money you have now, because he is saying, that he will not leave you in need, and that he will not forget that you need money! That is what it is saying to you! God says in that verse, that he will not leave you in a situation, where you will be a needy person, lacking money or what you need! That is his promise for you personally! Take it, believe it, confess it, receive it by faith, and wait, letting him fulfil his Word, and the promise in his Word, because his Word never fails, but will accomplish what God has spoken it for! Here we are. We have a promise from God, to keep us supplied with what we need, even in the worst of situations like famine.
With all this situation of job loses, and misery after misery with lock-downs and all the restrictions from governments around the world, because of Covid 19, many people everywhere, including Christians, have lost their jobs, their homes or their incomes, and many feel like they are living in a time of famine. But, yet the Word of God says, that even in a time of famine, God will keep alive those who serve him, and follow him. We can not get a better promise than that! Do not try to calculate, how or from where, your will get your provision, if you need food, jobs or clothing, because, very often, or I would say, most of the time, you will not be able to figure it out anyway, but even if you can not, God can, and he will figure it out for you, just as he has promised. Psalm 33:19, really shows that God cares about what is going on around the world, even in a time of famine, or Corona-virus pandemic, to provide and care for those who love him. That is his promise, and his promises will never fail, just as God himself, can not and will never fail, in what he does or says! God has never asked of us, or expected of us, to figure out, how he does things, but has asked and commanded us, to believe him, and what he has said in his Word. God himself has promised in the Bible, that the Word he sends on earth, will never fail, but will accomplish what he sends it for! And it will! All that God requires, is for us to trust him, and believe what he has said and promised. He knows that we do not understand, why certain things happen, and that we often do not see how, or do not understand, from where our provision for food, jobs, or other things will come from. And that is fine with him. All that he wants is that we trust him, because he is trustworthy. Our faith in God, is often like a blind faith, without explanations about why should we believe, or how things from God, will happen. We can not understand many things that God does anyway, and I believe, that even if God would explain to us many of the things he does, we will not be able to understand them anyway. And he knows that! We tend to believe, mainly what we can explain, and especially when we can explain why something happens, or will happen. But with our faith in God, we believe what he says, not because we can explain why God does something, but because of his character, and because of the miracles he has already done before, like miracles of provision, healing or other miracles, either in our life, or in the life of other people. And first of all, we believe, because of the trustworthiness of the Bible, the very Word of God, which has proved itself to be true, through the history of mankind. Even in famine, and in time of Covid 19 pandemic, God still feeds the birds. Think about it! We tend to think, that the birds feed themselves, because they fly all they long, searching for food here and there. But, Jesus himself said, that it is God who feeds the birds! The birds may be searching all day and night for food, but unless God provides for them, their search would be in vain. Would he not feed us, who are called his beloved children, and are the body of Christ? Jesus takes care, of his own body. You might be thinking it is really hard to have all your needs met, well think again! Psalm 8112/15/2020 God is always interested to give you the best he can, regardless if that is food, clothing, employment, or other things.
He has promised in his Word, not only to satisfy your needs, but to feed you with the best food there is. Can you think about that for a moment? God is not only interested to satisfy your needs, but he wants to give you the best gifts he can give you. He has the best for you in mind. No believing it yet? Look at Psalm 81:16. Although, it is addressed to the people of Israel, the principle is the same, and it is, that if you obey and serve God, he wants to give you the best, of what you need. And we Christians are called a spiritual Jews, in the New Testament. In verse 16, of Psalm 81, God says that he will feed those who follow and obey him, with the finest of food. That is his intention, not to give you just what you need, but to give you the best of what you need. So, the next time you are praying for your needs, and ask God to give you what you need, remember what his Word says, that he wants to give you the best of what you need, and not only just what you need, regardless of what you are asking him to give you. If you are a Christian, then you must be absolutely sure, that God wants, has promised, and will supply all your needs! That is the truth, and that truth is a fact. That is not a wish from God for you, but is his promise to you personally!
God is interested in your needs, but is not interested in greed! Your needs attract his attention, but if you have greed, his intention is to remove it, from your and my life. In the book of Acts, chapter 14, and verses 16-18, the Bible says, that God cared for all those unbelievers in the past, to provide them with all their need, and fill their hearts with joy, despite the fact that people have been ignoring him in the past. In fact it says, that God has provided those people mentioned, with plenty of food. You see that! That is addressed to non believers, in Acts 14:16-18, and not to Christians. And now, you and me, we are Christians, and that means, we are children of God, and we belong to God's family, and are his treasured possession, just as the Bible says. God cared for non believers, to provide them with plenty of food, and not only that, but to fill their hearts with joy too. Maybe you are asking yourself, how come? Well, that is the common grace of God, for humanity. How much more, your needs will be supplied by God, and all that he requires, is that you trust him, that he will. He will supply your needs, just because you need some basic things in life like food, clothing, house, employment, and he is concerned for your needs. He does not ever forget your needs, because he created those needs in your life, when he created you. He created us to be with needs. Notice that it says that God provided people with plenty of food, in Acts 14:17, and it does not say that people provided themselves with plenty of food. That is vital, because it makes us realise, that God is our source of everything, including our food, and not we, as we sometimes think. We may think that because we have a nice job, which provides us with plenty of money, therefore, that is why we have plenty of food. No, we should not forget that God is our source and he provides us with food, just as Acts 14:17 says. He is our provider, that is why Jesus said, that we should not worry about what we shall eat, or what we shall drink. Why did he say that? Because he has always our needs in mind. He knows what we need, before we ask him. Is there a way, to stop lack of money, jobs, cars, houses, or whatever you need, in your life?
There is, if you consider what the Word of God says. God has promised to supply all our needs, according to his riches, in Christ Jesus. There are many passages in the Bible, which clearly show, that God does want to supply, all our needs, just as he did supply, all Adam and Eve needed, from the very beginning, when he created them. The question is never if God wants to supply all our needs, but if we want to believe, that he does. God has already done, what we need, to make sure, that we have all that we need. But, there is one thing, he would not do. And that is, to force his provision of what we need, to us. Yes, he cares and provides for us, if we ask him or not, but somehow, he wants us to ask him, for what we need. That is why Jesus said, that we should ask, because if we do, we will receive. Why does God, wants us to ask him, for what we need? Why he just does not give it to us, without us having to ask him for that? Because by our asking God for what we need, we display, our dependant on him, and our faith in him, as our provider. When we ask, we express our faith, that he will provide. We show to him, that we believe we are dependant on him, to supply our needs. In Mark 8:2, 3, Jesus gives us the assurance, that if we chose to walk with him, follow him in our daily life, listen to him, spend time with him, he has taken all our needs, into consideration. Although he did not supply the needs of those people spending their time with him, at the very first day, he did after a few day, just because he did not them to go home hungry, and collapse on the way from hunger. But the main reason he wanted to supply all their needs for food, was, because the were with him, and they left all their jobs, family, houses, and other things they were doing, in order to be with Jesus, listen to him, and do what he tells them to do. They were first seeking the Kingdom of God, instead of seeking first, what they will eat or drink, if they went with Jesus in a remote place, without any food. Do you see that? They did not have food with them, and were hungry, after spending a few days with Jesus. That shows, that from the very start, they chose to go and be with Jesus in remote places, even without having what to eat or drink. They knew they will be hungry soon, but yet, they chose the Kingdom of God first, by going with Jesus, spending time with him, and listening to him, even if that meant for them, to leave their homes, their jobs, their families, and hobbies, and other staff they were going daily, in order to be with Jesus. The were looking to satisfy their spiritual hunger, even if that meant, on the expense, of being physically hungry, for a few days. That is one of the main reasons, why Jesus wanted to feed them, and provide for them, even if meant, to do it in a miraculous way, as recorded, in Mark 8:6. Seek you first the Kingdom of God. This will happen to you, if you do similar things, to what all those thousands of hungry people did, when they spend their time with Jesus, even on the expense, of losing weight, being without food, in a remote place. How many times in the Bible, it is very clear, that God really wants to supply all our needs! He never guaranteed that he will supply all our greed, but guaranteed that he will supply all our need!
The question is never if God will supply what we need or not, but will we believe that he will? That is the question which always remains there, for all born again children of God, to answer for themselves. When we read Matthew chapter 7, we can very clearly see, how Jesus talks about God meeting our needs, and he even compares our fatherhood and the relationships of earthly father, to that of our heavenly Father and us. How can we as his children still ask, and wonder, if God will supply all we need, when we read Matthew 7, and see clearly, what Jesus said, that God will give us good things, when we ask him for them! Yes God knows that we need food, clothing, jobs, money, houses, and other things, but he still wants us to ask him for him to give them to us. Now, in Matthew chapter 7 and verses 9, 10, 11, Jesus talks about those evil fathers, or bad fathers, who although they are are evil in their character, still have some love for their children, and still want to grant the desires of their children, for gifts, and all sorts of other good things. Them being evil, can not stop them to display the little amount of good left in them, and the love they have for their children, by giving them good things. You would not expect to receive very much good, from an evil person, that is why Jesus used the bad characters, to compare, to the immense and unlimited goodness of God, which he has for us. The evil nature of those so called evil by Jesus fathers, still can not stop them to display their good fatherhood, to their children. Now, what about our heavenly Father, who is good, and there is nothing evil in him? Although the evil characters of the bad earthly fathers, could interfere and somehow limit their little goodness in them, for giving nice things to their children, with our heavenly Father, that is entirely different. Our God and Father, who loves us dearly, and who has limitless goodness for us, because he is good, just can not stop wanting to give us good gifts, and good things, when we ask him for them. There is nothing in our God and Father, which can or will cause him to stop, wanting to give us nice things! Jesus said in Matthew 7:11, that our heavenly Father, will give us good gifts, when we ask him, much more, than any earthly evil father could give, to their own children. The question is, how much more? And I believe, the answer is, without limit! Why should God have a limit, of how many good gifts he wants to give us. I believe, that God our heavenly Father, wants to give us good gifts, much more that we can handle to have, use, and have fun with. Is there are limit of all the good things, our Father in heaven, our God, wants to do in our lives? And if there is why? But I do not believe that there is a limit, because I am sure he finds that difficult to put any limit on the good things, he wants to give us or do for us. Let me ask you a question. How many good things, you think, God gave to Adam and Eve, when he put them in Paradise, after he created them? I believe there was plenty of nice things, which God created in Paradise, for Adam and Eve. I am sure, they could never be bored, or have enough, with living in Paradise. There surely, were many nice things in Paradise for Adam and Eve, to have fun, and be able to say "We really live in a Paradise!" That is how our heavenly Father God, want us to be like, because of everything he has done for us in Christ, even if we do not live in Paradise anymore! But we must not forget, that we can never miss Paradise in heaven, but will also be in it for eternity. How well you know your Shepherd, will determine how much of green pastures you see around in your life.
The less we know Jesus Christ our good Shepherd, the more dry grass and no pastures we will find around us. God wants to lead you to a green pastures, if you are his sheep. God always wanted to give you green pastures, instead of a dry morsel. From the very beginning, God gave Adam and Eve a green pastures, and more, the Paradise. God hates lack in your life, as much as you do. Just read Psalm 23:1. The very two verses of Psalm 23, show that God hates lack in your life, and loves to take you to a place, where you will just relax, and enjoy the green pastures of provision from him, because you are his beloved child. And even if you walk in the valley of death, and the valley of Covid 19, and there is darkness all around you, God still wants to prepare a table in front of you, to supply your need and beyond, so much so, that even the enemies of your soul, will just look in dismay, at the abundance from God in your life, and not be able to do anything about it, apart from being jealous - Psalm 23:4, 5 Notice in verse 5, it says that your cup will overflow. You see that? God is not only concerned that there is no lack of what you need in your life, but he want your life, to be overflowing with his provision, just as Jesus did supply many baskets of leftovers, for the thousand of people, who were with him, listening for him and his teaching for days, leaving their daily engagements behind, in order to be with him. Seek first the Kingdom of God. The Word of God is full, with so many promises, for all those who believe, that their needs will be met by God!
If you find yourself lacking anything which you need in life, like, money, jobs, food, etc, then read, because the Word of God has to say something to your personally about that! There are some Christians, who claim for example, that if God has promised something in the Old Testament, then that is only for the people of Israel, and not for us as Christians. That is not so! In the New Testament, saint Paul says that we are spiritual Jews, because we are co-hairs with Christ. We are the children of the promise, children of Abraham, just because of our faith in Jesus Christ. Yes, we are not physically Jews, but we are spiritual Jews, according to saint Paul! When king David says in Psalm 103, that God satisfies his desires with good things, do you think that is only for him and for the people of Israel? No, because you are a child of God in Jesus Christ, therefore, that promise is also for you! God loves you as much as he loved king David! Why he should love us less! In Psalm 103:2, it says that we should not forget the benefits from God. What benefits? Well, all those blessings which God has given you in the past, or has given you today! That is all those things you needed in the past, like food, jobs, clothes, and any other spiritual or material blessings! The problem is that, when we face lack in our life, and when we wonder where we are going to teg the next meal, or the money to pay the bills, we tend to concentrate on the lack, and not on the promise of God, or the benefits and blessings, he has already given us in the past! You see, if we continue to thinks about all those good things and benefits God provided for us in the past, that will increase and strengthen our faith, to receive from God what we need now, or in the future! What we think about, will either increase or decrease our faith for provision from God! That is why, king David says that we should not forget all the benefits from God. God want to satisfy what we need from him, but often he uses our faith in him and his Word, to do that! Want a proof? Just look at how many times Jesus said in the Gospels, that it should be according to people's faith, when they asked something from him, and he did a miracle for them. Jesus often said to them "...according to your faith..." Why did he say that? Because he wanted to use their own faith in him, in order to do the miracle. He could do the miracles anyway, but he wanted to involve their faith in what he was teaching and saying. God always looks for our faith to be involved, in order to do a miracle. Meditating not only on God's promises in his Word, but on all those good things God has given you or done in your life in the past, will strengthen and increase your faith to receive a miracle from him, now or in the future. Do you want to terminate and eliminate the lack of what you need in you life, the way God intended it to be? Then read on, because there are sure ways from God, of how to stop living in not enough of all you need, be it finances, car, jobs, food, clothes and other necessary things in life!
God created you with needs, so he is more than concerned to satisfy and provide for those needs, as he has promised in his Word. All thought the Bible, be it Old Testament or New Testament, we can see our God as being the provider of all people have needed in the past. But that is not only for the past, because he has promised to provide for all his children, past, present or future! Our God is not like some politicians, who promise us something, but fail to deliver! No, God does not waste his time and our time, with false hopes, about our needs being provided for! Our God is never limited by our circumstances. He creates something out of nothing, just as he created the heaven and earth by his Word, out of nothing. No mountain of lack, and not enough, is too big for our Father God in heaven, to be removed! There are so many passages in the Bible, which show that God can provide for needs of people, where there is not even any reason to think so. Think about the Israelis who spend 40 years in the wilderness, how God provided for all they needed, even though, they doubted that he can! He provided for thousands of people in the wilderness, without them being able to work for it, or pay for it. He fed them and provided for them, in a place, when logically, not person would think, that you can get your needs met in whatever way. That is in the wilderness. What type of food can you get, for a few thousand people, on a daily basis, in a wilderness? Nothing! Yet God proved to them, that he will provide for them, for 40 years, daily! Not 40 days or months, no, 40 years of daily supply of all they needed, and yet, there were some, who still doubted where their next meal is going to come from. When we read Psalm 37:19, we can see that God has promised that in the time of disaster, you will not wither, and in the time of famine, you will have plenty! Do not try to figure it out, how can you have plenty, in the time of famine! That is not what God wants from you, to try to figure it out, and reason it, or try to explain it. Yes, it does not make sense, that when there is famine around, you will have an abundance of things to enjoy, but God does not care, about our common sense, and he does not depend on it at all, in order to supply what we need. Famine can never produce plenty, but our God can and will, for those who trust and believe in him. All that he is asking of us, is to trust him, and believe that what he said, will be accomplished, regardless of circumstances! God is not a man, that he should lie, and his Word is truth, because Jesus is the Word. Our faith and trust in God pleases him, first of all, not our reasoning. In fact, in the book of Proverbs, God commands us not to rely on our reasoning, but to trust him with all our hearts. His ways are higher than our ways, and his thoughts are higher than our thoughts, so are his way of doing things, and providing miraculously for our needs, when we can not provide for ourselves, because we find ourselves in a time of famine. This Covid 19 has created a lot of famine and lack, in the life of many people globally, but Covid 19 is not strong enough, to stop our God, providing for our needs! It never will be! Can we really say 'Goodbye' to the lack of money in our life as Christians? Well, if we look at the Word of God, in the Epistle to the Hebrews, we surely can! In Hebrews chapter 13, it talks about God never leaving us and never forsaking us. Often, we would think it talks about God being present with us, just as Jesus has promised us, that he will be always with us. But here, in Hebrews 13:5, it talks about God never leaving us without what we need. In fact, it talks about us, being content with what we have. But the fact is, very often we are not content with what we have. Why is that? Is it because we get bored sometimes with the things we have, and therefore, what something new and exiting? Well, that is not God has said, in Hebrews 13. He did not say that we should look for new things, if we get bored with what we have already. No, what he said is that we should be content, that our needs are met. That is what God wants us to be content, despite the fact, that often, we are not content with the stuff we have. In Hebrew 13:5, talks about us being free from the love of money. Why is that? Because having more money is not the point, according to God. According to him, I am surely convinced, that he sees money as the means for us to get things we need, and not the final goal or destination. The love of money is when we are not satisfied with the amount we have. But Hebrews 13:5 tells us to be satisfied with what we have. We seem to never have enough. And God knows it, that is why he says to us to be content with what we have. We tend to want more money, even when we really do not need them, and that is what the love of money is. Money in itself, is not good or bad, but the question is, how we use it, for what purpose we use it, that makes it good or bad. He said in Hebrews 13:5, 6, that he will not leave us, and that he is our helper. That is talking about God not leaving us without what we need. That is what it is talking here, in Hebrews 13:5, 6. It is not talking about God always being with us, and never leaving us, but about God never leaving us without what we need. Although, that fact that he is always with as, as he has promised, also remains. During these difficult time of the Covid 19 pandemic, many of us, find ourselves concerned and worried of where will get money to pay our bills, or buy food and other things we need. But if we look at Hebrews 13:6, we can see that God wants us to be confident in what he says, that he will provide for us, and not leave us without what we need. Read verse 6. It says that we can say with confidence that God is our helper, and that we will not be afraid. Afraid of what? Afraid that Covid 19 pandemic seems too strong, to curb our ability to get what we need, for our daily life, like food, cars, clothes, paying bills, etc.. The level of our confidence that God will not leave us without what we need, depends on what we believe about the God we believe in, and how much we know him. At the level of our knowledge of who God is, and what we believe about his Word and promises, will determine, how worried or confident we are, that he will supply our needs. Our confidence in what God has promised, depends on what level is our personal relationship with him. It is like two best friends. The more they know each other, and the more time they spend together, the more they can trust each other, that if any of them needs something or is falling into a difficulty, the other friend is always there for them, when they need them. The bigger the knowledge and trust of each friend about the other, the bigger the confidence for help from each other, when they need it. Our God comes in, when the whole world has left us. A friend is recognised in need, and Jesus called us friends. |
